Fresno Heart Hospital
Fresno, California
The Fresno Heart Hospital is a specialty center for cardiac care designed by a team of which Chambers Design Company was an integral part. Precedent projects were limited to franchise facilities that were unacceptable to the client partners, creating a need to develop new concepts and solutions that responded to this unique physician-hospital corporation joint venture. The team successfully conceptualized and built the 134,000 square foot facility on time and on budget.
Waiting Room

The client wanted to incorporate first class, state-of-the-art, clinical, services in a warm, patient-friendly atmosphere where the design emphasis is on care-giving and patient comfort. The facility is based around four cardiovascular angiographic suites and three contiguous surgical suites.

The clean lines and neutral palette of the interior architecture were designed to provide warmth and give emphasis to the original sculpture, paintings and photography that delight both patients and caregivers throughout the facility. Chambers Design Company designed the food service facility as a French bistro that features a "heart healthy" menu presented by gourmet chefs. Architectural details are repeated throughout the facility in a variety of finishes, consistently portraying the hospital's warm, patient-friendly image.
